Richard Dawson is an environmental educator with over 15 years experience delivering international education projects. His work explores how we can be inspired by the natural world, using this learning to design better and sustainable systems for ourselves. He has delivered several European projects including Lessons from Nature, BEAGLE, and the Real World Learning Network. He works for the Field Studies Council managing their portfolio of international sustainability projects.
Steve is Head of Epping Forest Field Centre responsible for the economically viable provision of high quality facilitated learning experiences in the natural world for some 22,000 learners each year. He has extensive senior management experience and of representing organisations at national and international level. He has previously worked as Head of Development for RLSS UK and as Assistant Chief Executive for ISRM. He has led many innovative projects including the ‘Sustainable Schools’ project (funded by the City Bridge Trust: 2004 to 2007) the UK’s first ‘Lessons from Nature’ programme in 2008 (funded by the Ernest Cook Trust and in collaboration with Ken Webster). Steve is a qualified teacher and sport & recreation manger with an academic background in human science. He is interested in all aspects of the development of human potential, creative problem solving, systems development and the quest for a brighter future
